Handicap Darting in Wichita? How can that be? There were many doubters of the handicap format including myself (HL). As it turns out it is a fun format and ideal to bring in new players as well as keep the seasoned players tuned into there game. Below is a flyer from an early Handicap Singles League. Circa 1981 or so.

Here is one of the league schedules from the very early days of the WDA. I see the names of a lot of old friends and darting establishment here. It brings back good memories

Does anybody remember Terry's Club. It was owned and operated by Terry Boushka who was a great guy and a big supporter of darts in Wichita. Terry was always willing to bend over backwards for the WDA and his darting friends. It is is now Mary's Club. Below is a flyer from one of the many tournaments hosted by Terry's Club.

And then there was the Joplin Tri-State Open. This was another great tournament that attacted a lot of great competitors. It was attended by many Wichita darters as well as shooters from all over the country. Check out the motel room rates. You don't see that anymore.

Somebody say Turkey Shoot! This one was sponsored by Terry's Club (now Mary's). I am not sure what year this one was held but as you can see it was only the fourth one in a long standing WDA tradition.
